art isn’t about relating to the artist, it’s about how they convey their experiences. and if you listened to some more of durks music, you’d probably have an appreciation for how he’s told his life story

im sure there’s some people who live vicariously through his “harder” songs to feel tougher, but that’s the case with a lot of rappers. there’s people who listen to Jay Z for “motivation”, but you can enjoy his music even if acquiring wealth isn’t important to you
