probably and the site would still be wrong.
to be honest it's hard to compare anyone to MJ.
Ye had the charisma, influence in fashion and cinematic videos for the comparison
Drake has the constant hits but other than that comparing any artist to MJ is just wild.

Yea I don’t think anybody could be the “new MJ”
The fact that people are comparing artists to MJ and saying they’re the new MJ speaks volumes to how impactful and great MJ was

First he was the new Jay now it’s MJ lol Drake wanna be everybody but himself

  • Aug 17, 2020

The fact people are still calling the big artists the “new Michael Jackson” will forever prove my point that Michael Jackson is #1 and always, always will be.

    It’s a dumb comparison tbh.

Drake has a better overall body of work but when it comes to actual vocal talent and live performance it’s obviously not even close to a contest.

At the end of the day it’s like comparing Elvis to David Bowie it just doesn’t matter or make sense.

If the convo is pure pop culture impact, I don’t think anyone could ever touch MJ again. The world is too complicated now for that level of unified adoration.

    EDIT:

To be fair the only artist I’ve ever heard people in real life comparing to MJ is Drake, but I just don’t see it. Drake isn’t good enough live to get to that level, and he can’t change that. People would literally faint at MJ concerts, and cheer for ten minutes straight while he just stood there. It’s just not the same.

Yeah. MJ has three incredible albums but after that it’s a little spotty to me.

He’s still probably the greatest performer of all time, but even there it’s not like it’s a wash. He just had a specific time and place in history that will be almost impossible to replicate or top. Even for his era (prime) I prefer Prince, but he’s obviously a GOAT.
