Originality is barely a concern in the world of AI art. At most, it's the most minor complaint. The discourse around AI art is far more focused on the erasure of the human element and professional opportunities in various artistic/design fields (and freelance viability).

The vast majority of originality complaints regarding AI have been against people who input keywords specifically requesting emulations of artists/designers' distinct styles (or merging two known styles of artistic figures), due to how accurately AI can replicate them that people can then either present as their own or potentially profit from. Occurences of AI generating "ripoffs" of specific artists or distinct styles without inputting those keywords is virtually impossible due to the mechanics of how AI art is created.

If AI art — which is essentially a generated interpretation of an idea based on hundreds of millions of images — is "unoriginal", then traditional collage art should be deemed as unoriginal. Of course, this isn't the case at all.
