True, my freshman year a dean got suspended for impregnating a student. A few of my friends died in car accidents. Pregnancies, suicides, bloods vs crips vs latin kings vs ms13, etc. It was a lot more varied ethnicity wise so if there was beef it was mostly personal

Yeah gang culture was rampant too, but it was always us vs. other schools. Girls that got pregnant in the high school were immediately thrown in the bushes and opted for home-schooling. jus wasn’t a good look. most of us had religious parents and sports (especially football/basketball) was a HUGE deal.. that’s how are schools secured most of our funding. I’d imagine it not being much of a profound focus up north. There wasn’t too much to do in our smaller cities so we spent a lot of time together. Even with the small cliques we intermingled because we basically knew each other all our lives. That high school musical niche stuff was pretty weird for us to see. Outside of white ppl we’d probably had a handful of Asians/hispanics and southern hospitality was a thing 4 us so we welcomed everyone.
