Not even tryna be funny.. but how do you know when an addict really wants help or not?

I seen this argument brought up plenty of times, but I genuinely wanna know how do you know when they're genuinely done and want to move past their addiction?

I feel like it's a slippery slope and relapsing is easy, so I want some insight.

    you don't

but you can work with effort

    that's about it.

    blonded

You aren't convincing anyone with your lame ass grandstanding breh

What would be a hypothetical amount of times it would be okay for him to help or attempt before you can stop?
What if she keeps turning down rehab? Getting away from it?

Are you allowed to imprison your own family member illegally just so they're off the streets? Do you have to continue this process until they die?

Where is the line? How many times do you have to try?

You are legally allowed to put your family in involuntary rehab or a mental health facility. Not sure if he did that, but that’s what they did for steveo and it changed his life

i was just asking cuz people kept using that "can't help somebody that don't want it" argument but it felt dismissive af. Addiction / recovery is so complicated lol

if they ain't seen it first hand nobody gets it.

honestly you gotta see it from both sides to be able to talk about it.

because every day you realize you one slip away from f***ing up big time for the rest of your life.

and the honest truth is you could give a f*** about anything else.

understand that you have to react in your own way to get the result that you want.

yes maybe you should buy an apartment and furnish her lifestyle.
but you're just killing your mom

yes maybe you shouldn't do any of theese things but you're not compassionate

it's none of our business/ don't judge something you don't have to live.

im not saying enabling her lifestyle

she cant sell the apartment to get d*** money, but she doesnt have to sleep on the street

trying to help your mom could end up killing your mom or your mom could kill herself and OD on the street. theres no simple answer, im not saying since hes rich he can magically fix her addiction

i have compassion for the mom, my aunt is a d*** addict who my dad has taken care of her whole life

I would try to do the same but you gotta realize that lifestyle is enabling tbh.

This on the back of his head everyday.

s*** is a tough decision that at the end of the day you will have to live with how you tried to help. and that will eat you alive for the rest of your life.

your dad has made that tough decision and so has lil nas x.

why r ppl implying that the paramount thing about getting a homeless person a home is that they'll have a space to do d****? how the "basic shelter" thing not come to ur minds first

  • Apr 15, 2021

not my business but it seems like he tried to help even when she disowned him. I wonder if he tried to buy her a home tho

  • Apr 15, 2021

    Damn that's messed up

  • Apr 15, 2021

The mom is literally out having to beg for food. Nas X is more than capable to get that covered at least this messed up

  • Apr 15, 2021

Y’all really don’t know how addicts move. She could have a whole mansion and be playing the beggar because she doesn’t have liquid cash to buy dope

In ya thousand dollar joggers as you rhyme about ya dollars
Is there shame when a platinum rapper’s mother lives in squalor?

  • Apr 15, 2021

Some of y’all have clearly never dealt with addicts.

You can try to help all you want, but after a certain point if no effort is being made by the individual you gotta let them hit rock bottom in order for them to bounce back. It’s even harder when that person is your parent and their addiction is directly linked to childhood trauma and feelings of neglect. It’s impossible to judge from the outside looking in.

How can you even verify this information from this video? I could walk out my crib right now and ask some random mf on the street holding a sign “You Lil Nas X mama?” and they gonna say yes every time no matter what.
