This is terrible. I don’t understand why he has to change his content because he was a victim of a crime? His music is a reflection of his community and it’s not like he ws Von or someone who was an ACTIVE gang member.

I could show you a lot of things using his own lyrics but the timing would be inappropriate and ultimately it serves no purpose to do so as nothing justifies him being brutalized in a residential area. However people need to familiarize themselves more to his catalog. It seems a lot of people are just talking out of their ass and don’t really listen to him enough to form an educated opinion.

Rappers are victims of targeted robberies all the time, especially if they stay in their own city. Look at X. Also I don't see what you're getting at because lil tjay doesn't diss dead opps or call out gang members in his songs. He an A boogie type of rapper, not no drill artist. I agree that's wack but that s*** ain't relevant in lil tjay's case

there's a song i posted earlier itt called "part of the plan" where Tjay does exactly that

"On my mama, I'm doin' the dash
I went through that once, I can't do it again
    One, two, three, four, five
Dead niggas up in the sky
    I be smokin' on deadies
Y'all niggas ain't ready for pressure, we finna apply
    SB niggas never gon' lie
Niggas want clout so I gotta move wise
AP is dancin', I call it my prize
Boy, if you wouldn't stop tuckin' your pride
If you want it, I'm uppin' the nine
F*** all this fame s***, I'm bustin' for mine
Tuckin' the trauma like nothing aside
I'm from a jungle, it's hard to survive
What you jackin', you pickin' a side?
Bro said he lackin', I took him, a vibe
I'm pistol packin' to keep me alive"

Gun violence as a result of a targeted robbery. His content is about what he goes through. I respect what you were saying (before you said “fuck rap fans” + I’m not even a fan of his music) I just believe if he wants to, he shouldn’t change his content. His expression shouldnt be compromised. My main problem with your point was You saying a street rapper should turn into J Cole after getting shot is just something I disagree with. It’s a goofy idea.

I'm confused where is he naming dead opps or dissing specific gang members? Like Playboi carti for example, he actually names gang members in his songs and named a nigga that he got "Stabbed" lol. No one talks about that though. This is just basic rapper s*** saying "im smoking on dead opps' The drill thats getting niggas killed is the s*** where they be naming dead opps

Rare when someone tries to murder you during a “robbery” that they just saw you out and liked your chain

Not everything has to be deduced to gang violence. Robberies don't always go as plan, especially when both parties has a gun.

i guess it's less disrespectful if he doesn't say somebody's name. but the intent is the same.

We keep encouraging Niggas to promote murder and violence and gang disrespect under the guise of expression and act confused and outraged when niggas get hit like they ain’t just dare their whole city to do that lol

Because how many generations are we in since Pac to where we act confused that going on a world tour of wolfing and disrespecting people will end like this. In recent years it’s gotten ridiculous tho to where the post Akademiks landscape of every L you take being viral for a day in your city has niggas acting like Superman. Of course there is always the initial socioeconomic factors ignored by the Giuliani types you mention but the rap ethos and urban social media landscape takes it to another level of bullshit

We need a Skin color check for those that try to make asking these questions seem weird btw

    Who acting confused?

    “Bro wtf”

Lol it happens everytime a rapper in this lane gets hit up. Instead of having that reaction when they come out talking crazy disrespecting people in the first place. Niggas think it’s funny or make niggas realer. Whether it’s the verbatim reactions of ”wtf” on the first few pages of this thread or the culture as a whole. It rewards niggas acting like kamikaze crash dummies then feigns confusion and outrage when they have violence committed against them

But maybe I’m imagining all that lol and again I’m not wishing any further harm on bruh

Im not gonna argue with you fr itt. You being hyperbolic and s*** saying niggas treating him like he was MLK when nobody saying that bro.
He is a gang member and is rapping about his life. He wasn’t always dissing niggas but sometimes he did. Again like I said he isnt a Von type nigga who antagonizes his enemies all the time. You want him to be J Cole and that doesnt make sense. His hood is still the same way it was and his homies still going through the same s***. You need to stop acting green.

Also of course niggas are shocked he got shot man what
