I like Demon High more than any single song off EA
You got bad taste my guy
It’s a fun lil 80’s tune
Nah I like it too but better than anything off EA? Idk man
Crazy how Pink Tape will only be Uzi’s third studio album
He’s influenced and achieved so much despite only having two official albums out (same as Carti)
I’ll always contend that that 3 year gap between LIR2 & EA harmed his career more than it helped, so much amazing music was mishandled in that period that it’s hard not to think what could have been
Nevertheless, crafting a high quality album takes time. So I think this two-year solo break is more than reasonable especially considering we got the Pluto collab in-between. Seems like he’s focused on crafting something as good as LIR2 again, which in my opinion, has aged beautifully and is one of my fav albums ever. If he delivers on that kind of quality again then all his blue-balling antics are instantly forgiven

uziawge also teased today that there will be a grail tape after this album, or at least that he gave him the idea. No old songs on Pink Tape, but there's still hope for them
Yes pleaseeeeee
Generational song

It had its moment, but i'd rather let sleeping dogs lie than try to recreate a moment that worked half a decade ago

Strong argument for TWLG being one of his best songs ever still exists though
I by no means would want him to try and replicate it or attempt a sequel like P2 on EA but I just hope that Ike’s post implies that the Pink Tape will bring with it anthems as high-quality, emotionally potent and transferable as TWLG … That Oh Wonder sample was magic

All he saying is the vibe is back, not a sequel song or nun

I get it, its the more general pop direction.
TWLG works in context of the album cause its all about his breakup with Brittany and moving on. The sounds fit well cause its meant to be a really sincere track emotionally so it fits great.
I'm just hoping whatever is in that style has some purpose within the context of the project. I think Demon High just showed me more than anything else that his general pop songs are not really for me nowadays without context.
And sequel isnt out of the question, P2 is a direct sequel and he basically recreated Over Your Head 2/3 times but slightly altered.
I'm just concerned more about him falling back on his old sounds again to try and save face instead of just focusing on making great music. Its probably just gonna be a song similar in concept (heavy sample from a non-rap artist) but until we hear it who knows may be wrong. May just be back on his LIR2 type vibe again.

Being back on his LIR2 type vibe again is what I think it's implying. Either that or just more songs with Ike lol

His most popular songs (XO and TWLG specifically) have never been my favorites. But I wouldn't debate people who say they are his best. They are a sound executed to near perfection even if it is not indicative of his core abilities as an artist (TWLG is decently left field from the majority of his catalogue prior). TWLG works for me way better in terms of album feel than a single. Its the big buildup of Uzi getting over Brittany, an absolute heartbreaker but also gives a lot of catharsis to this long arc with Brittany in his music. If its more big anthems with an important meaning or album context I'm game. But his more general pop songs arn't my favorite really.
Uzi will be performing this Friday June 17th at the Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash in Chicago
