more fast food music
pink tape definitely wasn’t fast food music
but i can agree this tape might be
This s*** sucks this dude needs to go on a couple month vacation or something and find inspiration
It’s just odd in the bigger picture man
Pink Tape flops after the first week he immediately moves on and cosplays as 2014 young thug? Then what? immediately move on and become 2015 Uzi again for LIR3?
He just seems lost. If he wanted to move with this sound he could have without full on cosplaying as Young Thug. He’s damn near a decade in and well established himself this is just sad to see hed rather pretend to be old thug than new Uzi
it is the same issue he has had for years - lack of confidence in the music
this is why he decided to release 65 songs in 2020, continue to preview songs on live for feedback, nostalgia bait, talking down on PT when it got a mixed reception etc... he doesn't know what used to make his music good and so has no idea when or what he should be dropping
Uzi doesn't make music that is good or important enough to demand a 3 year hiatus so it's completely unsurprising that Pink Tape played out like it did...
not having a hit sucked (not counting JWR) for him but if he dropped a solid project a year that "internet" fanbase would only get bigger. instead his career is being managed like he's at Travis's level which is stupid
I hate to say it man but his sound needs Maaly Raw back in the fold
Wondagurl and DP beats too
There are so many artists who have leaks and still release the music. I understand being annoyed by it but artists that chose to not release cause of leaks effecting sales is capping
Hurricane is a great example, huge leak which then became a huge song
It’s for the best that this never comes out and I’m sure as others have said the leaks were intentional as a way to excuse it
I get Thug did a lot for him, that 2015 co-sign was how a lot of people outside of Philly (including me) found out about him but he’s doing way too much
Titling a project barter 16 was cute and a nice little homage but then full on cosplaying as him, hanging around birdman, wearing a RG chain, and trying to sound like that era of thug just got a little weird and too in the moment.
Glad he seems to have come to his senses because this isn’t going to help him in the long term and this whole stunt seems to be a way to shift peoples focus from how bad Pink Tape performed after the first week.

He will be fine.
He always manages to get a huge hit every couple of years.
He’s just trying s*** out and that’s ok.
He’s career is far from being managed like Travis. That dude has a whole ass movie out and Hugh merch drops. While Uzi has nothing to promote his album at all. It actually seems like he has no support from his management.
nah they leaked it
Whole thing???

Facts.. If anything leaks can help tell you what songs are best to release and get a kind've "test screening" for your songs. I'm pretty sure Yandhi was intentionally leaked by Kanye's camp for that reason

Not a chance, if there’s one artist who backs himself 100% it’s Kanye.

what exactly is he trying out?
eternal atake copped a bit of criticism and the first reactions was to drop old “grails” to placate the fanbase
the same happened with PT and a DAY later there was a long ig post which had words to the effect of - this was just a f***around, more music coming soon (luv is rage 3 - lmao)
“Test” things but stand by them otherwise it looks weak and fake. Which clearly it is because Uzi has relied on one gimmick after another to remain relevant for a while now as the music has fallen off. Maybe put a diamond in his tricep next
These songs are cool but this will probably be his worst project if the tracklist is the same as the leaks

Testing new musical ideas out.
How do you want he to stand by the ideas, all he has to do is put the music out. That's it, what do you want him to tweet all day about the music. That's up to the label.

alr when you frame it like this, i can see why people are upset tbh/not fw this

Pink Tape was the epitome of fast food music
