So Yall can play Lights Out, The Block Is Hot, 500 Degreez, IANAHB, IANAHB2, FWA, C4, C5, Funeral, Rebirth and say “yeah this stuff is just as good as the first 3 carters”?
TBIH, LO and 500 got some heaters
But I get your point
Every Carter besides 5 was great
The Wayne section will tell you that C5 was a great album
Idk if there was singles or anything but when u pressed play that s*** must’ve been so f***ing shocking what was that like
Prom Queen
wayne inspired so many artists. for that reason alone he can't ever be called overrated. you just don't understand it, which is something different entirely
Straw-manning Wayne is hard. People will just spam you with banger after banger from every corner of his discography. From the most obscure feature to the smash hit single, he’s made magic too many times to count him out tbh.
Wayne definitely has some mid and absolute dogshit albums in his discog. Feel like people throw his mixtapes in there to offset it. Which I understand, but if we're keeping it strictly albums, it's more misses than hits in that s***. I'd even say some of those mixtapes he got in his discog are also some trash.
Rebirth - ASS
I Am Not a Human Being - ASS
Tha Carter IV - Mid
I Am Not a Human Being II - ASS
Free Weezy Album - ASS
Tha Carter V - Aight
Funeral - Mid

you should give IANAHB & C4 another shot, they aged really well
i’d also argue We Are Young Money counts as a Wayne album since he’s on every song (except that one Twist & Chuckee song… we don’t have to acknowledge that one)
you really just be saying s*** 😭
luv that
Wayne can do no wrong in your eyes lol
Are we just linking old tweets by 60 year olds?
Its time for people to stop acting like mixtapes are a lower art form than albums
Plenty mixtapes better than albums. And dont talk about the "other peoples beat" s***
First and all, if a nigga raps great over them who cares this is HIP HOP. Also plenty original beats on them like tell me why Kush & OJ has to be deemed inferior because it was released as a mixtape
But the topic is about albums, not mixtapes.
We can all name great Wayne tapes but the albums notoriously fall short of those vibes. Not necessarily a bad thing cause we still will always have the tapes but there's a clear difference in output, and I don't blame Wayne cause label politics but sometimes I wish he said "fuck em" on the tracklist selection process.
Tha Carter 3 is a f***ing classic, it's the closest Hip Hop has ever been to a true "Thriller" moment in the genre imo
