Kanye/kendrick/Tyler/Frank type fans are still stuck on an outdated and pretentious rubric to judge rappers discographies

and wont admit that it’s a rubric made by the whites

I Am Not A Human Being?

    Carter 4?

    Free Weezy Album?

    Carter 5?

    Funeral?

he’s got more than just that and you just yapping s*** and excluding the mixtapes to get off a disingenuous take cause there’s nothing you can discernibly tell me was trash about the albums above if you actually listened to them genuinely

2 of these r mid 1 is bloated 1 is a mixed bag and 1 is good

In comparison to the general named GOATs (Kendrick, Hov, Nas, Pac, Biggie, people using OutKast to insert 3Stacks in there)
Wayne and Em are on the lower end album wise

  • Apr 27, 2025

Don’t see why we wouldn’t include mixtapes
If u include mixtapes this guy has
Carter 1, carter 2, carter 3, dedication 1, dedication 2, da drought 3, sorry 4 the wait, collegrove, no ceilings, tha block is hot and like father like son

That’s 11 projects and he has more that r good

It's a posthumous album obviously. But even then that's two albums. Wayne has more good albums than that

  • Apr 27, 2025

I expected more outrage over Wayne being grouped with Em than the guy with Illmatic/It Was Written/Stillmatic plus more being considered a better album artist

ah ok, so it’s his second album & was actually pretty far along before he passed

  • This falls apart when he leaves Eminem with the same ratio of bad to good albums for their entire career.

I see the argument. But you could also argue that this assessment of his discography is “rockist” and trying to fit his work in a box it wasn’t made for

Does Wayne need better curation or maybe he’s just not tryna be Kanye or Lauryn Hill or Kendrick with the music.

Hes in the same realm of a James Brown as far as messy ass discographies. digging through the mid was part of the fun and with dudes like that even the mid is often fascinating.

That's still not enough for that person to say "Wayne isn't a good album artist compared to other GOATs like Biggie"

If 50 had died after Massacre he'd be a GOAT. (Still got Biggie in my top 5 tho)

the nigga name is mixtape weezy for a reason. When you remix someone’s song and no one listens to the original any more that cements goat status. C2 is also a top hip hop album OAT

We talking about albums, original creations.

The fact that people can’t defend the albums and immediately jump to mixtapes to defend Wayne is the biggest tell that this take isn’t too off the mark.

    Thinking mixtapes arent original creations????

U crackers disgust me with yall hip hop opinions

Its time for people to stop acting like mixtapes are a lower art form than albums

Plenty mixtapes better than albums. And dont talk about the "other peoples beat" s***

First and all, if a nigga raps great over them who cares this is HIP HOP. Also plenty original beats on them like tell me why Kush & OJ has to be deemed inferior because it was released as a mixtape

Wayne is sorta like Jadakiss.....God level rapping and punchlines but with a generally aimless album run and a stronger mixtape catalog.

The Carter Trilogy and C5 are arguably Wayne's strongest albums but, overall, his mixtapes are where he shines the brightest.

Wayne is one of those rappers where you have to really f*** with rapping in itself to understand his GOAT status.

He's not a Kendrick/Tyler/Ye/Outkast type rapper who has avant-garde type of acclaimed albums that appeal to critics, non-rap fans, and hipsters.
