In a way, I kinda see what you mean.

I was excited for C6 initially because I thought Wayne knew what he was doing and had a strong concept for it that would be an evolution of the previous Carters.

But, after listening to the Fix, hearing the loosies he's dropped, and seeing the constant delays, it's clear that Wayne might be going through writer's block with C6 or he's struggling to figure out what artistic direction to go in with the album.

I'd rather he keep it delayed until he comes up with a concept and drop something like IANAHB3 instead than drop a directionless and bloated C6.

I think thats part of it. They want to drop something people really like and that does well commercially. But direction isnt there right now. I actually agree should just stop the series completely and use a different name dont use ianahb3 either.
