Do you seriously think anyone has TI above Lil Wayne?

    Old heads from the south?

Yes! I’m from Atlanta and people rate him way higher than Wayne

Must be the bias because that’s absolutely absurd. I’m from the south too (admittedly not that south) and I’ve never met anyone in my life who would say that

I think he's legitimately one of the hardest people to convince people of that not only he's a legend, but also his value on rap as whole. It's so much bigger than his music, you gotta look at how many artists he put on the map as well, let alone how his style of music (along with Wayne) forever shaped the future of rap. I can barely convince people my own age who grew up liking his s*** that he's on of the most pivotal rap figures in the last 20 years. Thats not even speaking about his music in which he's given us so many classic songs. You know why they still play "So Icy" at Atlanta functions, because his grasp on that community and the US at large was undeniable

Imagine how many legendary artists we wouldn’t have with Gucci man literally continues to reshape Atlanta not to mention his music output in the early days the only one to rival Wayne with mixtapes I’m surprised to see him missing from top 10s

Imo he is overrated, I never got his hype.

He really isn't though. TI doesn't really show up on top 10 lists like that and his antics and personality overshadow his music these days.

At least Wayne keeps to himself and is still known for music more than anything else.

Ti is very regional compared to Lil Wayne

I think people who arn't actually in touch with the music rank ATL music and 2000's-2010's music really weird in general. Without Wayne and Gucci, none of the artists in the mainstream now would probably even exist (let alone sound anything like they do today) rap wise. Pivotal is how I'd describe Gucci's role in general and the disrespect he's gotten post jail for his fall off makes me sad, like everyone just wants to judge him on that cause thats when he started getting more mainstream appeal.

He is! I feel like only Atlanta niggas like him. When I talk to my friends from other places about hip hop his name is never brought up.

Honestly, I figured TI would be one of those respected rap legends in Atlanta but not really someone who still has a large fanbase.

It seems like Atlanta rocks with Gucci more than TI.

Honestly I feel like Future has more love in Atlanta than TI. His legacy is weird to me as well

I think people mainly look at Gucci as a mentor now much like thug with all the artists he put on with 1017 I will say his quality is slightly lower than what he put out in the early 2010s but he is incredibly rated unfairly

Anyone remember when T.I. said he was taking his teenage daughter too the gyno to make sure she wasn't having sex? Actual psychotic behavior

TI should do a remix verse for Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me" now that the charges got dropped against him.

It's his own fault tho, bro coulda stayed lowkey and the convo woulda been about his music instead of his antics and statements

    I like them both
