i would never accuse yachty of being a good label exec but also i feel like most of the time when an artist has an issue with the label it comes from them not doing their due diligence and understanding what it means to be signed

signing to a label usually comes with some kind of language about splits, marketing, budgeting, etc. like say i sign you for $15k cash advance and $15k worth of jewelry as part of a marketing budget. me as the label i want to recoup that money so me being the label boss I have a plan for what i want to do with this artist which is all in the contract. now the artist wants to do XYZ which me on the label im not a fan of because there’s some certain marketing and maybe sample clearances or just the price of studio time, producers, musicians, etc that have to be involved but i go with it and it flops i don’t get my money back now we have to regroup and figure out how im going to make this artist a star meanwhile the artist just wants to do their way which isnt how the business works. when you’re a signed artist your level of autonomy varies based on your deal the reality is none of us know the term of the deal karrahboo signed with yachty or whoever is really behind concrete so us saying anyone being right or wrong at least from a business perspective isn’t really possible
