I'm LOOOOOOOOOOOOOST
In these memories
Living behind my own illusion..
LOOOOOST
All my dignity..
Living inside my own confusion..
Holy s*** this song sounds amazing. Can’t wait for the official release of it

Yeah I’m definitely excited. I know Lost, Fighting Myself, and the one I posted all have vocals/lyrics. I hope more are not just instrumentals. But I’m super hyped. Meteora is one of my favorite albums and I always thought the more hip hop/street aesthetic from the band around this era (2003) was more cool than the grunge alternative aesthetic from the Hybrid Theory era.

I agree they actually had really great art direction, which gave them more credibility imo. Instead of just being the typical Nu Metal band
Even the rap songs that they did were actually good, it wasn't just to cash in. Their albums in that era still hold up to this day

Definitely. I know Chester gets a lot of credit and rightfully so, but Mike Shinoda definitely deserves props. Dude is a hip hop head through and through and had such a unique songwriting/rap style imo that is hard to replicate without being corny.
Even back on the Hybrid Theory EP, he was calling out nu metal bands for appropriating hip hop just to make money off the rap rock trend

I've been on a Linkin Park rotation lately, never listened to their newer material much but The Hunting Party is a surprisingly good album from them

It’s funny because Minutes To Midnight might be my favorite but there’s an atmosphere to Meteora that makes it neck to neck for me.
I’m not sure how much stuff ya haven’t heard, but this is one of my favorite newer songs from them. The melodies are so beautiful
And Mike has done some really cool hip hop related stuff since Chester’s passing.
And of course there’s always obscure old stuff too.
Mike Shinoda verse from 2001
And some obscure LP songs from MTM and ATS era (2007-2010) that made it as bonus tracks to the albums
Just some gems I’d recommend

My favourite band of all time. Been going on a nostalgia trip last week or so going through Hybrid Theory, Reanimation and Meteora.
Guy is INSANELY talented.
F***ing seriously. Dude has had connections to Jay-Z, Black Thought, Common, Juelz Santana, Aceyalone, Chali 2na, Ghostface, Lupe, Kanye, Busta, Rakim, Pusha T, Stormzy, Kendrick, Dan the Automator, Xzibit, Timbaland, Alchemist, Evidence, Bun B and dudes like Chance, OG Maco, and Lil Uzi have given shoutouts to LP. It’s the hip hop head’s rock band for sure. It’s prolly not a surprise to find so many kids got into rap or rock through him.
And the dudes got so many gems buried around too. Like this verse from a forgotten 2001 collab with an LA underground rap group
“Call up a relative and tell ‘em who the hell it is
You think not, guess again you bet it is
Put a kink in the backbone of predators
They’re not competitive, acting like they’re on sedatives
With or without large amounts of melanin
Let it begin until the rigamortis settles in
Rain into rust, on bulletproof metal men
It’s deep water and there’s no backpeddaling”
Or this demo verse from “Sorry For Now” that he only did live
“You have gotta be kidding, it’s a hobby we’re living,
we were sloppily spitting to some wobbly rhythm
Popping off in the kitchen at parties, properly hidden
I was probably nervous but still got up to get em
Jacket possibly referencing some army division in
Camouflage like images all my idols were in and
I was not with the kids that my mom had strongly forbidden
So I was skipping out stealing car audio with em
Good kid, lived in a bubble and barely knew it
Lucky if I could recognize trouble to get into it
Trying to find like-minded rhymers to make a crew with
But nobody liked the same type of music
I'm used it
Facing some opportunities I didn't know what to do with
Sitting there on the sofa with smokers gamers and losers
Knowing I'm not stupid but too unsteady to prove it
Maybe I'm running to it but maybe already blew it“
Like wtf man

I don't think people realise how talented he is. I grew up listening to LP in primary/elementary school. Shinoda was someone who influenced my style and was probably one of the first artists that actually got me into rap.
When he dropped the Fort Minor stuff man...SHEESH.
I'm really thinking of getting the anniversary stuff when im over in the States in just over a month.

Same. I was thinking of just getting the Lost Demos s*** on ITunes or something but i think I’ll cop the full thing.
And yeah the FM stuff is still nice. We Major mixtape got so many gems I really wish he did another project under that banner.
Also that It’s Going Down song with the X-Ecutioners was a banger
