I can see some of these guys crossing over to the mainstream.

also feel like music casuals are going to be exposed to most of them via streaming as well.

Tyler winning that grammy is going to push more styles and diversity into what we have already.

(I posted this in another thread too, but it doesnt have alot of attention)

in my opinion tyler winning that grammy is HUGE and is going to shift mainstream music once again. not necessarily that mysterious music meme, but were going to get an entirely new league of rappers the next year or so with different sounds to replace whatever is popping in the mainstream.

Starting off we have Baby Keem: who has gotta be hands down the leader of the blog era 2.0.. with hits like ORANGE SODA and HONEST.

then we got these guys who are all REALLY DOPE and have their own styles not riding a wave honestly.
alot of these guys ready to blow tbh. lots of videos with millions of views and made in the last year

(of course we know this one)

Nah. the first era didnt even become mainstream and those artists had more potential than the dudes you posted. None of these guys will blow up. I'd be surprised if even got a major deal

When i said bar i didn't mean bar like a rap bar. I meant bar like a bar of music. It's only so many words/ syllables and emphasis(adlibs) you can put into a cemented set of time to keep your flow on point. Or risk going off beat.

It's a tough thing to do. This might be the new progression kinda like from SugarHillGang to Rakim to Migos/ Triple 6(since this originated in the 90's)

But the next development man i don't even know

wait but the first era with like:

big sean, kendrick, schoolboy, wale, etc all ended up going pretty mainstream.

most of these guys are already in the process of getting big tho, like the dates and views on the videos really show how their bein pushed.

Oh word lol i know what a measure is. But this drill wave allows u to make the flow sound way fresher cuz the snares dont hit on the 2 & 4 all the time and the 808 doesnt always hit on the 1 either .

Thats why smoove song sounds so refreshing, s*** wouldn’t work over a regular beat. listen to how he starts off the second verse

Also i feel like theres a lot u can do w different cadences, stretching vowels, changing rythm within the bar, etc. But ya that straight ahead type flow is getting stale. Like i said niggas just need to experiment more imo

I said the era didn't. I didn't say artists from that era didn't become mainstream. Those are two different things and a lot of the artists you named had other reasons that helped them blow up.

There's always gonna be a decent number of youtube views for artists but that doesn't always translate into commercial success. Young people right now are pretty contempt with the current wave that exists which is why we get a new big artist every year using the same mechanics. What you posted in the OP aint it
