Not to derail the thread but you seem to not understand the mindset of Imperial Japan at the time, They wouldn't have agreed to an unconditional surrender no matter how many civilians/soldiers died with a ussr/usa invasion of the country. Culturally this wasn't even an option for them. A display of total force like that was really the only way to get them to actually surrender.

I think since its such an emotionally charged issue people tend to think of solutions in terms of absolutes where their 'side' has to end up with everything, and is unable to make any concessions to the other side, with people on the pro-palestine side wanting the country of Israel to cease to exist and people on the pro-israel side not willing to even give back land settled in the past few decades. Both sides will have to make concessions for a deal to be struck in a peaceful manner but I dont think either side really has any interest in that currently, as sad as that is.

First need to remove the western secret agencies created separationist groups in the region: taliban, hizbullah, alqaeda, isis and the ayatollahs in the "islamic republic" of iran.
As long as these groups are active people with different mentalities cannot live alongside each other in peace.
Zionists also have the same tendencies as the mentioned groups, they need to be removed too ... ordinary jews, muslims, christian and athiest middle easterners are capable of living peacefully in the same area code.
