Live action anime adaptions lowkey shouldn’t stay true to their source material. Anime stories and characters don’t translate well to live action movies. There’s certain things only animation can get away with and those things are very prevalent in Anime. If they want to actually make a good live action anime movie/show they have to tone down a lot of the anime tropes and character designs. So it’s like a middle ground of normal western/japanese movies and anime.
They really want to screw another anime with a s***ty adaptation
I swear we’ll never get a GREAT life action anime / video game movie / show

Battle Angel Alita
Speedracer
and Edge of Tomorrow were good adaptations

Nah don’t think they should go that far, comic books are more grounded in their design and tropes than anime so they can just do a 1:1 adaption. Anime is different, the character designs are very unrealistic, anime faces don’t look like actual human beings so it’s hard to find actors for them, the stories are really crazy too. All they gotta do is tone it down a bit. Part of the charm of animation is that you can be much more creative with animation than live action movies. So if they want a good live action movie sadly they’re going to have to sacrifice losing that charm and instead play to the strengths of live action movies.

Bruh they literally be doing everything you’re talking about, and they still f*** it up every time

Nah just look at the characters in the ops pic, that looks identical to the anime char design.
also this concept is scary bc it looks like they finna take super sentai budgets/aesthetics and throw them on anime lmaooo
couldnt be a worst combo, anime works bc of the art style and quality and they wanna make CW budget live action versions of that s*** lol
This is exactly why I avoid live action anime adaptions
Idk what Yu Yu is but I’m willing to bet that there will be an Evangelion live-action adaptation within the next decade
I had an ounce of hope before seeing that image.
F***.
The image isn’t the show. It’s from the Stage Play that came out last year. Idk why OP used that image
WHO THE F*** ASKED FOR THIS BULLSHITTT !!!!!!!!
EDIT: This shot is from a screenplay in 2019. Actually images of the show haven’t been seen yet
You should make a note that this isn’t an image of the show. It’s the Stage Play from 2019. There’s no images of the show yet

Oh okay, had me scared.
I know this live-action series is being done by ROBOT/Netflix Japan so I'd like to have some ounce of hope.
Will most likely skip but i don't mind live action adaptions since they bring more attention to the artist' work and the publishing companies usually takes advantage of that to rerelease new editions of the source material.
Just saw they added the original series on Netflix (don't think it was there before) so that's a win for me
