krishna boundI don’t want to be a downer here, but people better hope the cops f*** up moreso severely soon, because public opinion is turning on the protests quickly. Look at any community-centric FB, Reddit, etc. - last night they were all very, very supportive and pro-protest and now everyone is very quickly doing a 180. Not good news if this keeps going without fixated direction

Make racially provoked (even minor) attacks by police a law within itself with severe penalties. Notice the officer wasn't charged with a hate crime.
Make it a law for police departments themselves to be fined severely for every case including non-lethal ones.
Have superiors being also held responsible to an extent for the actions of their officers. Police have ranks after all.
That's quickest solution I have.

I’m not saying people need to court the public, I’m saying the quicker protests lose the interest or care of most people the quicker things can get significantly f***ed up or escalated without anyone looking both ways. Ignorance/Apathy - active or otherwise - suits oppression moreso than actual ill intent does, and I think we’re going to see a lot of apathy.
