@rara @rami The older protests have led to a lot of great African American rights groups growing. Black Lives Matter was basically formed through the Trayvon Martin protests in 2014.
They also put the conversation into people's mouths the whole country is talking about this because of these protests.
It may not feel like progress is happening but progress is happening. Also the public shame this officer is getting will already make it less likely another officer would be so stupid again. Even though it will definitely happen again but police are now hyper aware of what's going on
I don't doubt progress is happening. These are the largest protests and they're in like nearly 20 major cities all at the similar levels of of riots. I'm just wondering, if they stop after like a week, then i very much expect this same level of potests and such if we don't get any policy change
