Looting is inherently positive for the sake of protesting. Nobody gives a f*** in the long run about how ‘uncivilized’ looting is. That’s low-testosterone posturing from greedy oligarchs who want to maintain ‘civility’ so they can appear to be the victors. Complaining about looting is racially charged. It subjugates black people to an inhumane identity, representing them as animalistic, base, only working off of instinct.
Read between the lines, look through the bullshit. Looting is a representation of anger and the direct denial of capitalism at work. That’s what scares people. Businesses will recover.
you're not wrong, but just saying a lot of people don't care about target or autozone (if they do they're ed lol), they care more about the fact that some small community businesses got looted; the people running those aren't oligarchs nor are many of them even what would classify as "bourgeoise". it wasn't country clubs that were broken into and burned (unfortunately). i don't have the tweets offhand, but there was some stuff yesterday about how local black-owned businesses like a woman's small salon/wig store got completely destroyed and a recent immigrant's corner store got robbed. i get not wanting to prioritize supporting businesses of course but i don't think i'd compare things like that to places like target.
