Jun 2, 2020·editedgnarlynastyIf it wasn’t for this virus already halting the economy and society at large. These protest would’ve gotten s*** done cause this would’ve hit the economy very negatively. Now with no one having a thing too lose,you have to ask,how does this end properly?
It's such a strange series of events that went down. The virus locked people down and tanked the economy. Businesses started opening up, but most were still at home. Floyd was murdered and everyone saw the video. The fallout from the virus left people with enough free time to protest and a ton of pent up energy, but the reopening businesses added a layer to the media's portrayal of the protests.
But what's really interesting is that this is an election year. Not so much because people are acting differently, but because there's an extra conflict for the administration and EVERYONE can immediately get involved, even if they're not protesting.
The timing is so wild. We have to make something out of this because a perfect storm for change like this doesn't come around...ever, really.
