Kind of a ranty post

My feeling on the looting going on is that I'm tired of looting being the central issue. That's not me defending looters across the board; motherfuckers on discord organizing u-hauls to rob stores and not saying a damn thing about George Floyd is not OK. The protesters are beginning to rail against this too because they know their platform is being muddled.

But if all you're doing is talking about looting, you got taken. That's just the fact. It's a Republican talking point that is further incited by the opposition. They can organize just like we can, and if you give them that satisfaction, you are a pawn.

The biggest mistake that the police are making is attacking the protesters and media instead of guarding storefronts from masked white motherfuckers. They shouldn't be anywhere near the protesters. But the sad fact is that they like it. They like beating up on the unarmed and getting easy victories. They see them as the enemy. The looters are stirring up discord in a way that benefits their cause, so why prioritize them?

All of this is to say, I'd just be really bummed out if the legacy of these historic protests is damage to storefronts. Keep pushing, keep working, keep spreading knowledge. We can make it happen this time.

age/identity not released

theres was video circulating where u hear a ton of ppl yelling drop the gun drop the gun
and then a s***ton of shots
but you cant actually see the person or anything

initial police statement, confirms that there is bodycam video

according to the citizen app police reported that police had been shot, but then there's no mention of it in the police statement so ?????

some ppl saying a 13 yr old, some a 34 yr old
some ppl saying he had given himself up n was on the ground
but thats all pretty murky

in the United States, the war on terror established a narrative that brown people in the middle east are terrorists and the enemy, so that connotation still sticks in the psyche of Americans

Then theres this whole thing about domestic terrorism, being like: blowing up buildings and leaving a manifesto.

normally there ought to be a political message or aim in mind with an attack, to label it a terrorist attack,

But if you break terror down to simply creating fear in another individual or a community, as the police do, as ICE does, you could technically label them that, it just doesn't hold the connotation everyone thinks of.
