The point of my comment is that no one wants or needs to hear what Obama has to say right now. He had the actual power to make change, he didn't, so now he gets to sit back in his mansion and serve us up empty platitudes and tell us to go vote.

this is such a stupid way of looking at things. obama had almost unlimited political capital when he first got elected. if he didn't turn away from his actual grassroots base he could have done anything he wanted. not to mention he had the house and the senate for a long enough time to pass things through. but he didn't, because he didn't care. all of his actions since leaving the white house only amplify that fact.

this is so dumb, i'm tired of hearing white people constantly talking about the privilege they have instead of using their privileged platforms to say something meaningful and try to motivate actual change, i'm not saying it's not good to recognize it but at this point it drives away attention from the actually important stuff
