Their attorneys probably telling them it’s safer to stay in jail tbh.

is it entirely wrong for me to not want them to? just a teeny tiny part of me wants them ripped to shreds tbh. i want them to stay in jail, but i wouldn't mind the misery to follow either way

    How do you know? 🤔

Read an article/social media post a day or two ago. People were originally saying it was he was shot by a police “sniper” but it was later confirmed to be a rubber bullet. Police would never use live rounds to control a riot unless s*** hit the fan. America isn’t iran.

i believe we're at a point in history where capitalism is already on the precipice of its own destruction and taking the planet with it. it's an inherently unsustainable system, we can already see this worldwide and have been seeing it throughout our entire lifetime. so i agree that a global uprising is necessary but i also think the contradictions are becoming so apparent and will continue to become even more so as things like climate change wreck havoc across the world, which means the conditions for real change are being established and people are truly angry (as we can see right now). the goal then is for people to educate each other and do everything they can to prevent fascism opportunistically bringing the proletariat to their side, a real struggle with media so entwined with capital. i can see this sadly happening especially through promises of protecting people when it comes to climate change, trump did it albeit on a smaller scale when he made empty promises to poor people that he would make their lives better and they believed him. but it's the sheer number on the streets this past week combined with just how f***ed the current situation is that gives me hope something is possible, despite being obviously far too early to truly tell.

Yes, you're certainly right that capitalism is an inherently unsustainable system; to an extent. I'm going to get kind of s*** on here for this probably, but capitalism as a concept doesn't equate to a singular understanding of a socio-economic system. Liberal-capitalism is a system which creates continual illusions of meaning through association with self-fulfilling material cycles; it's what contributes to the economic flanderization of culture. Modern post-industrial global capitalism is basically synonymous with liberal-capitalism.
Theoretically capitalism is segmented as a theory though. Older iterations of what capitalism constitutes aren't really the same; the type of capitalism an-caps for example cheer for isn't really philosophically the same as liberal-capitalism because at its core it's really a form of stripped back primitivism with a mutual culture of personal property. The capitalism early 1900s paleo-conservatives wanted was essentially a return to pre-industrial capitalism; that being a small-scale capitalism based around personal meaning divorced from the norms or idea of a norm existing that penetrated cross-communities, no less internationally, which largely came as a result of industrialization.
In the most theoretical sense, Marx & Engels essentially believed the acceleration of modern capitalism would inevitably lead to an expression of capitalism which recognized the meaninglessness of liberal materialism and would be unrecognizable otherwise from the systems they described because of the inability to detach capitalism increasingly from hyper-industrialization, globalization, and centralization of wealth.

legitimately if cops weren’t there it was a crowd of about 800 versus them lol plus they were stopped so they couldn’t drive off
