Petitions don't do s***, they already responded and said petitions won't make them reopen the case again. This social media activism is useless and pointless.
For real

The POINT of a petition is to raise awareness of an issue and showcase public backing — which can lead to something becoming a high-profile case. High-profile cases, especially in this age, have a much higher chance of resulting in change so shut up and sign the damn petition.

Are you blind or mentally handicaped ? They already said they don't give a f*** about petitions. It's not by signing some stupid petitions online that changes will come. Internet made y'all think that you're actually being subversive by posting black squares on your timeline or texting stupid number and signing petitions. If you can't understand that go argue with people in my blocklist.

You always in here on some f*** s*** so it's clear to me you're the one with the mental handicap. You also can't seem to read or comprehend written English. I said the point of petition is to display public interest in something, not change an entire case you idiot.
They are working on ways to rectify the Elijah situation due to public interest. Something that would have not been considered without pressure from the public considering this case is one year old. I hope your ass is out here in these streets and in these state officials' offices since you always have so much s*** to say.
yall seen how they had 2 or 3 employees sitting on that 16 year old kids chest and legs and it ended up suffocating and killing him
at the behavioral center where they're supposed to be able to deal with kids who have behavioral issues.
They killed him for throwing a sandwich
Three former staff members of a Michigan youth home have been charged in the death of a 16-year-old Black boy who died last month after employees sat on his chest, abdomen and legs in an effort to restrain him.
An autopsy report released Wednesday by the Kalamazoo medical examiner's office ruled the suffocation death of Cornelius Fredericks a homicide. The examination revealed it was the result of "restraint asphyxia," caused by multiple people using their weight to pin the boy down.
Fredericks was apparently held down by the staffers for about 12 minutes after throwing a piece of bread on the floor at Lakeside Academy where he lived, according to an investigation by state officials.

The thing is we as a society (just generally not saying everyone does this to this extent) have established much of our life in different social media and online places to where we want to feel like we can do some of this stuff online
But it seems like this makes us ill-equipped sometimes to fight and protest the systems that were here long before these online and social media sites
idk what im saying but we're so used to communicating through social media
Why have we never seen him move this urgently and passionately to protect you know, human f***ing beings?

Holy density

Pretty much.
My perhaps biggest point is though the acceptance of internet activism as a viable form of enacting change, when it isn't, causes people to pursue it rather then avenues which would deliver results. As a result all it does is force the continuation of social stagnation, arguably it's just part of a wider collection of measures which our states employ to provide the illusion of our opinions actually mattering. They didn't start reporting and caring about George Floyd until people were outside burning s*** and rioting.

Even peaceful protests have been proven to be mostly ineffective;
Huge protests in which hundreds of thousands descend on the city, but in most cases the gov. just pretend they aren't even there and, ultimately, they go back to their homes, back to their misery and just hope they have a chance to get their say in the next general election. It's pathetic. People just continue to bend to the whims of their owners in power.

"A study from Pew Research Center examined the petition site "We The People," which allowed Americans to sign petitions to the Obama Administration. They concluded that "petitions have limited legislative impact," finding only "three instances where petitions led to concrete policy outcomes," even though there were a total of 38.5 million signatures on more than 473,000 distinct petitions."

And people are still out here thinking they're doing something by signing stupid petitions and doing peaceful protests. It's more sad than anything. I think a society where people resort to signing petitions online and doing peaceful protests to express their discontent is every dictator dream.
