However Szobo has been nothing short of amazing this season and I don’t know if there really is a need to spend over 150m on wirtz

Generational player that would improve any club in the world though so I definitely won’t be mad about it as long as other areas where bolstering is needed way more get sorted out too

As long as we get kerkez done (and frimpong i guess, not that there would be too many options in that area) I’m satisfied though

I do wonder if slot will be able to unlock and unleash any defensive abilities in Frimpong cause from what I’ve seen so far they’re pretty much non-existent

Even if not though 35m for frimpong just seems like such a steal that it would be almost dumb not to take it, sort of an opprtunistic signing, at worst he can rotate with Salah whenever he would need a rest lmao

it’s true that with the sales of darwin, kelleher, possibly even some from players like gomez, jota, morton, tsimi, chiesa and unfortunately elliott…. this could bring some really decent funds

new CB is an absolute must especially if Gomez is leaving…. Quansah never stepped up when given the chance this season, probably the biggest disappointment cause he looked sooo good in pre-season I still wonder why it didn’t work out for him this year smh…. was even given a start in the first game just to get subbed at half-time and ever since that it’s been only downhill, think we should seriously consider a loan move for him next season

but yeah as i said new CB is a must it just feels like we’re being a VVD/konate injury away from being cooked

Would you sell Quansah or Gomez? Quansah more expensive, but Gomez deserve the playtime imo

Definitely wouldn’t sell Quansah I think he still got loads of potential, he still got time to develop - loan move would be perfect imo he needs to play regularly

I personally have a lot of love for Gomez and yet again he delivered this season when needed but this time it really seems like he might leave this summer, was already close to leaving last summer to Palace i think

Lots of love for Joey G but he’s not getting any younger + he’s a very injury prone player obviously so he would be my choice quite surely

If it was up to me though I’d still love to keep him around for depth for another season, I just need him to score at least once for us before he goes lol this wouldn’t feel right

I think that’d be a decision we’d regret one day… honestly he just needs to get playtime, otherwise I believe he’s got all the parameters + being pretty good on the ball and when playing out from the back he’s class

Just needs to get more physical at times but I think he can work on that

And I personally wouldn’t say he’s not in favor with slot, still got plenty of chances when VVD/konate/gomez were out and even now he’s getting chances but he just doesn’t deliver as he should…. Don’t think that slot wouldn’t have trust in him though especially as it seemed like he planned to start the season with a VVD/quansah pairing…. backed out of that early though lmaooo he dodged a bullet lowkey
