1. Djed Spence was right there smh - not the most exciting of players all in all but for 30m + homegrown and could cover both right and left side is an absolute steal…. genuinely don’t get how they didn’t get this deal done. desperate for a right back & as much as I love tsimi I’m not sure if he’s the best back up as well anymore.

2. midfield needs some bolstering too and Joao Gomes seemed like a perfect value deal (especially if Curtis would be leaving), Villa got a player there smh. if Nyoni finally gets some real playing time this season I won’t be arguing though.

3. don’t wanna whine about the winger position yet but man it is taking way too long. if Barcola (+Mbaye) deal finally gets over the line then it’s all good i guess but if not this is a major f*** up and a big big problem…. could’ve possibly went for some of the PSG recruits instead - Akliouche seemed good enough to me for the price tag, Godts is more of a left winger I assume but still an option that could’ve been explored…. and me personally I would’ve loved Kangin Lee for depth but yeah that’s a hot take I assume

*at the very least they addressed the CB position, but it’s a big question mark. but i guess it’s a better option than spending 40m+ on zabarnyi or konsa (not entirely sold on either) when you already have jacquet & leoni in your ranks (not even mentioning ndukwe & ndiaye who both seem promising)

striker position is still a big question mark for this season too. Koumas looks alright in the pre-season so he might be worth giving a chance but still don’t feel it’s enough at all in case Isak picks up an injury…. seeing Barca pick up Adeyemi for 20m made me just sigh

but besides all that transfer business drama, I’m still quite positive going into the season

think we might struggle quite a lot especially early on (and especially with the intensity), but the pressure is not that big this season I would say…. still important to perform well but compared to last season I feel like the pressure on the result is just not gonna be all that huge this season and I hope that might lead to some surprises

even myself I feel like until new year I could care less about the actual results and rather want to see some entertaining playstyle finally instead. but of course even this has its limits, top 5 is still a must I would say even if I personally feel less pressured about results this season

neither of these really seem like Curtis profile though and rather more skilled in defensive abilities compared to Jones (which might not be a bad thing after all)

always thought of him as a future salah replacement back then and wanted him (sidenote i remember i even brought him in in one of my fifa careers back then to replace salah lol so that would be funny), still fancy him so i wouldn’t mind it at all. however, only under the condition that barcola comes as the number 1 winger as well.

but as a second winger signing i’d be over the moon with minteh. maybe not as much as with mbaye or rayan, but still more than happy:)

50m valuation seems more than fair though so idk if I would push that any further tbh. 60m max otherwise i would rather not pursue this deal
