    I'd say it has something to do with the fact that she was elected by the conservative party themselves, not a general election, in the UK people vote for the party, not the PM, so if the PM resigns, the party still has an unfinished term, so they internally elect a new one, which is pretty undemocratic I'd say, Liz Truss was voted for by 0.12% of the population
