Lol come on nobody is calling someone a spaz cause of their f***ing disabilities that's close to unheard of

idk man looking back at the kids we used to call spazzes, they might've had some disabilities we weren't aware of back then

but even then i don't think that matters, does it? i mean when people said the r word or the f word it wasn't necessarily used because they had downs syndrome or for their sexuality.

This situation is only proof that trying to pander to the woke twitter audience will backfire. They build people up just to tear them down. That’s not the crowd of people you want following you.

I mean the context of a word definitely matters if you're trying to remove it from society

The f word especailly was used to emasculate people and create a negative context around gay people

The r slur and f slur have way more history tied to them and reinforced negative perceptions of the people harmed by them though, to a WAY greater extent than the word spaz does.

    Especially the f slur

The real question is are we getting cracker, cac, and gringo out of here

  • Jun 14, 2022

Every time people create a mob over stupid s*** like this they lose more goodwill. It's actually counterproductive to what they're trying to prevent

a lot of the people who get upset over this were typically the ones who got teased as a child and never got over it

someone just posted a tweet from someone it actually affected

Hey @lizzo my disability Cerebral Palsy is literally classified as Spastic Diplegia (where spasticity refers to unending painful tightness in my legs) your new song makes me pretty angry + sad. ‘Spaz’ doesn’t mean freaked out or crazy. It’s an ableist slur. It’s 2022. Do better.

she doesn't like the way the words being used and sees a negative context around it for her and others that suffer like her. i mean she being a little extra but is it not fair for her to be offended?

yes and she'd be facing way more backlash if she dropped either of those words. that's besides the point made
