LateFirst off using cancer here is a pretty bad example as being obese is linked to higher cancer rates. Second, the bias is often massively overstated; it does happen but not nearly at the rate its presented as. Doctors are not supernatural beings that immediately know what's wrong with you. They use deductive reasoning starting out with the most likely cause for the symptoms given the individual case. For a normal health person there is no reason they should be sick. This means that the symptoms are viewed under a broad umbrella since nothing needs to be ruled out first. However, for an obese person the possibility that the obesity caused the symptoms needs to be ruled out first since that is the most obvious cause. Obesity itself can cause certain symptoms like joint pain and that of course would mean a diagnosis would be affected. Its the same thing as doctors seeing lung cancer in patients who some.
i’m talking about rare forms of the disease and i never said doctors should instantly recognise an issue but doctors should be able to do at least checks of someone health blood tests etc can easily tell if something amiss.
