I'm not hearing the mixing issues y'all are but this is pretty good. Don't think this is near his mixtape run though in the 2010s. Beside Banks' weakness of writing choruses lol, I have an issue with the production. There's a lot of boom bap beats but with unknown producers. You get Uncle Al, Daringer, Ohbliv, DJ Harrison, Havoc, Roc Marci etc. etc. on the production and this thing is top 5 raoty. Hope Banks can work with these producers in the near future and we don't get another 5-year hiatus
the only collective that did it better but nobody since g-unit has and tbh, i can't see it happening again. young bucks debut is in that line-up for me. i used to play tf out of that too. and even though tony yayo is a f***in clown, his debut album is way better than anybody expected it to be
Agreed, SOC was a great album, yayo ruined the streak, kinda like a wu-esq run tbh (although not quite on that level)

Banks wrote must of gunit choruses tho i think he was the best hook maker next to 50 he wrote the iconic in da club hook... but now he's more bars than hooks

Hooks were pretty good on this IMO
@Daveacee9 i just think it’s more to do with delivery, 50 had more of a melodic voice for a hook whereas banks is obviously more monotone. If 50 were doing the hooks on this it’d feel more melodic (not saying I would want that though)

Yeah it would def be more melodic if 50 was involved...but 50 ain’t nice like before so i don’t know if i wanna hear hooks with him on it
50 made bad music decisions musically sometime for the team
like how you make this a single

Yeah i understand it but back than pimpin was getting way more radio play 😂 😂

Hell no!
I’m talking about in their hey day, 50’s hooks sounded the way they did because of his delivery, if banks were delivering the same hook it wouldn’t have been as catchy, and that’s no slight in banks. But yeah, I’m glad 50 and g unit where nowhere to be found on here
Stranger things may be my least favourite on this, but I still f*** with it

Break me down for me. The verses are hard but the hook is kind of cheesy.

Panic is the only hook I don’t really like tbh, more so because he went the whole album without trying to be “trendy” and then dropped that right at the end
about to give this a listen, hopefully he can follow up the critically acclaimed beamer benz or bentley
I hate when the rapping is good but it's not really sonically catchy enough to listen again.

Yeah that's sorta how i'm feeling about it so far

Honestly gets better in repeated listens, my first listen was meh, 5th time through and I’m like
Dam it's crazy it had been over 10 years since he dropped a full project
prolly dropped some mixtapes along the way but I haven't checked em out yet
He's taking more of a spitter approach on this one and I'm fw it

I think I'll stick to his first two

dan hust is a massive em fan and prefers pop over hip-hop
