I know this will probably get laughed at but I think the song is easily one of my favorite Drake songs ever. I think this is by far my favorite roll out/first single Drake has had. Thoughts?
Music is subjective bro. Dope that it’s in ur top 10. Just shows his greatness more than anything. Dude can make a song for anyone and anything
the song definitely has some crazy replay value
its gotta be those horns in the background
I'm a Drake fan elite so there's no singles in my top 10.
Jk. Love the song and I'm happy people like it.

love the Scott Disick meme lol. The song has grown on me. I know he has a huge catalog but something about this just sticks with me

The beat is crazy. I love the horns. The Durk feature is on point. I have been listening to Durk since L's anthem so happy to see him get shine. Drake rips the last verse too

Dude really can make a song for anything. That's his best quality and also why I think his albums suffer a little bit. He makes songs for everyone so there are always going to be songs that are not for everyone.
I think the song really has a lot going for it
1) drake really raps and puts in an effort
2) drake also gives it some solid melody
3) great lines, Kanye disses, etc. but doesn't overdo it
4) durk gives it "street cred" and helps balance out Drake but doesn't overstay
5) music video rollout was great
6) song imitates things that worked about "God's Plan"
7) song sounds suitable for a college homecoming or something, well-suited for the return to college coming soon (despite COVID)
8) the whole 'laugh now cry later' concept works really well in light of COVID, george floyd, etc. acknowledging the sadness of life, but also indicating that right now, it's time to have fun and enjoy life - sort of clearing the air and making the audience more receptive to whatever drake is about to drop.
9) the song has enough complexity to catch your ear but also enough simplicity (the 'baby' lyric, the horns) to feel accessible
10) it kind of fits with the slow yet almost militaristic trap vibe of other records out RN like "WAP" and Beyonce's "the black parade" but is better than either (IMO)
EDIT: another thing that works about the song is that it sort of evokes that old-school classic Drake, So Far Gone vibe (especially the chord progression of the chorus), that other recent Drake songs like 'toosie slide' also evoked in a very self-aware fashion. in fact it sounds a lot like the chord progression of "I get lonely too" IIRC
What's your top 3?
Thats tough probably too many songs to put an actual top 3. Dreams Money Can Buy and 0-100/The Catch Up (love both parts together with the James Blake outro). Then I don't know maybe Marvin's Room got to have an RnB song in my three drakes songs.
The Boy has so many hits really tough to do a top 3

Good picks , The Catch Up is godly

Unironically I think a vast majority of his best cuts are not the singles.
Except Passionfruit. That s***s flames.
