No one involved in the story is trans. Insanely effective and widespreading anti trans misinformation campaign said a boxer who beat another box was trans. Everyone made huge statements about the supposed trans boxer is evil for beating a woman, it became a huge trans people in sports debate. Elon, Trump, JK Rowling, Logan Paul all have millions of likes and views (hundreds of millions collectively) saying this cis lady is a trans boxer, a guy who just said he was a woman so he could abuse women.
But anyone who literally just googled the boxer would know she isn’t trans. Was born a girl. Not only is it illegal where’s she’s from to transition but there’s many articles about her upbringing as a girl wanting to do boxing.
She (like many female athletes) has a lot of testosterone and (like many female athletes) doesn’t look traditionally girly

"I'm sorry for my opponent, too. If the IOC said she can fight, I respect that decision."
Carini, also 25, said abandoning the fight had been a mature step to take, but she expressed regret at not shaking hands with Khelif afterwards.
"It wasn't something I intended to do," Carini said. "Actually, I want to apologise to her and everyone else. I was angry because my Olympics had gone up in smoke."
She added that if she met Khelif again, she would "embrace her"
