I'm from EU so the public transport is probably 10x better than whatever US is doing and in here if a girl had to go 15 minutes by a bus to my flat it's literally a non-issue

I was listening to a podcast once from this USA based girl and she made a rant about what a date is and what is not a date and people in the comments were praising her for that and she said some stupid s*** as "no... just having drinks as a first date doesn't count you have to have at least 3 activities planned for your girl"

And in here we're just chillin going on walks taking everything easy. We barely even call it dates we just hang out in good company and if there are some feelings you just start hanging out more

Meanwhile muricans have to worry about cars and s*** because a girl telling them "I'm not gonna date you because you cannot drive me around" is considered normal

yeah we all know the utility of having a car, but OP mentioned several times he is working towards getting one. The lack of a whip doesn’t stop s*** if she really feeling you. I didn’t get my first whip til I was 20 and I never had a problem dating or getting it in before then. On the other hand having a whip was a new expense for me and I had to figure out how to budget so I couldn’t move on my own right away.

Going by what OP is saying he just took a different path. He got his crib and job situation together first so he can allot funds to get a whip. S*** with gas prices how they are right now he ain’t missing out on nothing. In the real world everybody doesn’t drive. I live in a downtown/urban area right near a major hospital. I see the doctors and nurses walking, biking or catching the train/bus to work all the time.

It's definitely harder to meet without the car at all but fr the public transport in my city is at a level where I know more chicks without cars than one's that own a car

Leaving with your parents after you're 24 might raise some different issues and questions but what you're describing sounds a lot like materialism issues and dates being treated as a performance rather than just two people enjoying each other's company
