I’m aware of how it sounds, and I tried to emphasize that it’s something that happens naturally over a period of time, and not because people en masse are mad gullible. At the same time I’m more than certain that without this ‘content baggage’ we would be looking at Khaled’s music differently, same with Nav and them. Critically yes, but not as the butt of a joke

I'm sorry OP, but I am not reading a whole write up on DJ Khaled. You gonna have to sum that up into 2-3 sentences max.

He does your standard pop rap music but brings certain ‘authenticity’ to it. Being someone who doesn’t directly contribute to music writing and consistently giving out hits that are distinctly ‘his’ is notable

yeah thats the one i was thinking of, i knew he didnt produce it for earl specifically but i knew he did the actual production for it

its kinda funny that he just decided to stop producing since he's not bad at it

The only authentic thing about it is that I believe that he believes that he's so great and that he's winning or whatever.

But there's nothing special or creative about the music. If anything it's more commercial and manufactured that way. In the new albums a lot of songs are just by one artist with their usual producers so there's no need for DJ Khaled to even be involved.

This is not true for KTT. Most people here still hate Logic and Fantano. People are more skeptical than you think.

To one of your points: I’m sure he brings something extra out of his collaborators. Way more than if it was a guest feature for your average pop artist

I look at how DJ Khaled is perceived on the internet. I start with 'what does he actually do,' then go into him introducing the term 'mysterious music,' his place in that discussion and touch on his 'accidental genius' marketing. I finish it up by saying the discourse is one talking head changing their mind on the guy away from doing the same thing.
