Ye definitely portrayed one side of himself in his early career and possibly relating to mental illness or other factors has shown a different side of himself, and those two images aren’t compatible.

It’s disappointing to see someone you idolize go from one set of values to an opposing set, even if they might have valid points in doing so. (Ye is right about identity politics amongst the Democrats holding back black voters, but he was wrong to support Trump, who’s racism is antithetical to much of the messaging in Kanye’s first six albums).
