a good cost/performance move is to get a puffer vest. Cheaper n keeps everything important warm enough if you're not gonna be outside for very long
If you could extend your budget from 100 to 150 you could def find some TNF or Patagonia puffers on sale

Def willing to drop 150 for quality
uniqlo ultralight down has served me well but they are slim cant layer too much
also as with all down jackets not gonna last forever
Personally i would go for the layer route i usually wear a softshell jacket (windproof waterproof) and layer as needed underneath. Got mine for $80 on sale at rei
Can go down to 0 with that no problem
You could pick up north face puffers for 100 or less easy on ebay too
Prob wont be black tho depends

It's solid, warm, and the fit is nice. I use it as my temperate fall daily driver, and it's pretty good for that in terms of price tag
I need the one that's shown in the first preview pic but that s*** sold out quick
Jackets can’t last a man 4 or 5 years?
a $100 jacket is not going to last you 5 harsh Winters dude

I'm not going to be fighting arctic wolves to the death in it--I'm gonna put on the jacket, waddle in and out of my work and come home 🥴
this might b the one https://www.ebay.com/itm/124936830328?hash=item1d16d0bd78%3Ag%3ADccAAOSwdt5hXdiw&LH_BIN=1&LH_ItemCondition=1000
Actually a lil bit of a thicker and fluffier model than the one I got. Mine doesn’t appear to have as high a collar either. And it cost the same as that
I’d go for it tbh. You should be insulated well
