any good video editing software cheap/free?

Sound is not really my genre, so I can't give you much feedback on that. The video is just a image of a car in a rainy dark night looping itself, so I can't give you much feedback on that other than keep going.

I'd recommend the Adobe Cloud (Aftereffects is also in there) or Adobe Premiere Elements if you're short on money. They have deals for students also.
