I have pretty much no musical expereince, but I'm passionate about music. I want to make hard beats like Metro, Southside, Wheezy, London, Pierre, etc (808 heavy)

I'm using a macbook, what's the best software to get started with?

And any midi keyboard recommendations / Any other gear ?

Let me know if you have any helpful advice / tips

Figured this quarantine would be a good time to get started on this

Ableton is the best imo and then jus download their drumpacks.

My favorite producer rn is Wheezy, so i just downloaded one of his packs

  • spectrasonics.net/products/omnisphere
    refx.com/nexus

These are the most popular VSTs (sound plugins for beat making)

Any recommendations for a good midi keyboard ?

And any software tutorial / videos to watch for getting started with Ableton ?
