FWIW i don't even mind if an artist is up their own ass, some of my favorite artists are super super pretentious but the only thing i care about is the music. if Lorde is completely up her own ass surrounded by yes men/women and I end up liking the album then I'm completely happy

Idk, I think the only guarantee is that it will be a positive review. I know I'm only basing it off two tracks but Pitchfork can be p predictable (not always but often), if the rest of the album is similar I'd put money that it's either a 7.2 or a 7.8 (no in between). Hoping the rest of the album's better tbh, these songs aren't bad but I'm underwhelmed.
