nah there’s personal writing but like i said there’s def lyrics on here that are either straight up about nothing or very out of touch
Wouldn’t being out of touch make it more personal if anything? She obv is to a degree, satire or otherwise, and it’s apart of the character of the album as much as that character is a version of herself. I think she’s just self aware enough to inform the songwriting, and it’s still very personal throughout. She is a far way away from where she was when she wrote PH & when she wrote Melodrama, and it reflects that because her perspective and approach is totally different
lana cocc better than this you wyldin
cocc was pretty hard though
Lorde feels like she is a Post-Doomer on here. Someone who understands that our civilization is lost and searches for something new. She is just out here wanting to live life. Maybe People can elaborate who read her book how it relates to the Album and if those themes come up on there. I really enjoyed my first listen. It really feels hopeless and she glorifies little things in life. The mid point of the album was a bit uninteresting but the beginning 5 tracks and the last 3 were great. I really love the harmonies. I wished for some more features outside of background vocals. Production is really enjoyable for the most part. Good Album
idk how yall this is her worst album first impression alone already like it a lot more than pure heroine not hitting same as melodrama tho
like more than pure heronie hmm pls do not blow my expectations sir
drunken in the uber what are the standouts
gonna listen in full tomorrow
The path
California
Fallen fruit
Noticing new things in the production each time I relisten
The production has more standout moments on some tracks than I first realized

idk i cant lie a lot of the writing even if wasn’t personal isn’t as sharp imo. like she still got good melodies but there’s nothing for me to go away from this thinking wow she a genius like when she had that punctuation use line on melodrama for instance.
the fact that lorde's weakest album still washes chemtrails, evermore and happier than ever
"I know I'm funny haha" s***s on all of them and whatever solar power is
None of the singles were good lol, this was bound to be mid.
Not you bro
