What you think of the song bro?
Liking it a lot
Video is great too
is that in a positive light or not lol
"It's like NFR but happier and better"
and the second coming of fleetwood mac was a compliment but I don't even think the girl was joking. yikes...
Yes. Once a year and they don't give any heads up smh
It's comical, sassy and over the top. You see the way ktt calls every new song a masterpiece or the best ever. Well they're extreme like that all the time. With that being said, if you follow Pop / Alternative Pop that's the go-to place. And their base sections for different artists feature the most die hard stannery on this side of the internet, for good or worse. Stan Twitter style...
hmm
is it true its also a more female/LGBT heavy userbase?
It's the same title
just found out there’s already a thread for the album nvm

I mean these lyrics are pretty specific to a certain demographic so 💀💀
Love love royals but holy f*** if publications and the industry at large didn’t live through these lyrics vicariously in order to s*** on black culture in 2013 (not to mention Lorde herself doing so in the song)
S*** is so blatant looking back on it and idk why it isn’t talked about more

Yeah. I'm literally in the 5% of hetero users there. It's mostly female and LBGTQ users and they even make you fill out your sexual orientation on your profile

Yes bro with the great taste!! Is it weird the song is giving me "coming of age flick" vibes

it really took f***ing ferguson and all that stuff in 2014 for people to even begin examining casual racism and microaggression that stemmed from ignorance
it’s really crazy
@RVI

hmm

That’s such a ridiculous take.
Black culture is much more than the hyperbolic capitalistic symbols portrayed in some music videos. She’s not criticizing “black culture”, she’s pointing out a contradiction between her banal, boring lifestyle as a middle class girl and the extravagant aesthetics of a certain kind of rap.
She’s saying that this dissonance is alienating because we’re all being sold an inaccessible dream (turns out it wasn’t really inaccessible for her but success is also a matter of luck and circumstances).

middle class btw
middle class btw
Doesn’t contradict what I said. She portrays herself as a middle class girl, listen to the lyrics and look at the music video. If she’s lying about it, she’s dishonest but that doesn’t make her wrong: there’s a clear dissonance between what is being portrayed in music videos and films and what we’re experiencing. By “we” I mean us, the people who don’t own the means of production.
