Nets coach Jacque Vaughn on Anthony Davis emerging even more as a passer of late out of double teams, but also in screen/roll action:

“He’s doing it from different areas in the court. His ability to really be a hub of late puts another problem in front of us.”

"The Lakers came out flat in the second half and we took advantage of that. They were complaining about calls, so we just did what we had to do."

Darvin Ham on the second half: “They started to make a run and we just kind of fell apart.”

  • Jan 20, 2024

    Darvin Ham:

"Talk about the tale of two different halves. That first half is what we're working towards... And then the inconsistency showed up and reared its head in the second half... We have to decide which team we're gonna be."

Darvin Ham on the turning point from the game: "Obviously, Cam Thomas came out blazing hot...They started to make a run and we kind of just fell apart."

  • Jan 20, 2024

Darvin Ham: "It's tough because you don't want to burn through timeouts...shotmaking shouldn't effect how you compete. We're not getting back."

"It's over for the excuses, man. We got to play basketball."

Darvin Ham on how they keep tonight's rough second half from snowballing into the next game:

"You look at it. You show it on film and address it with the group... You take all of it, the good, the bad and the ugly and you show it to them."

  • Jan 20, 2024

D'Angelo Russell on the third quarter:

"They got some momentum and regained any confidence that we took from them in the first half."

  • Jan 20, 2024

    D'Angelo Russell:

"I don't think we're hitting the panic button yet. As a group, we're still dealing with injuries and things like that. We're slowing figuring things out. We played at a high level the last two games and tonight was a setback."

  • Jan 20, 2024

    Austin Reaves:

"I think we got a little stagnant in the second half and when that happens, you have to be really good at making tough shots... We got to figure out how to get those shots to go in or create easier shots like we were getting in the first half."

D'Angelo Russell said the Lakers' miscommunication on defense hurt them tonight against the Nets and added: "Obviously Jacque Vaughn’s a hell of a coach. He’s drawing up sets and putting them in position to take advantage of any miscommunication or mishap on our end."

  • Jan 20, 2024

Anthony Davis: "When you're trying to find a rhythm and you have two great games on both sides of the floor and then you kinda just revert back in the second half of this game and practically play no defense against these guys ... I think everything on the defensive end, we just didn't do."

  • Jan 20, 2024

Anthony Davis on the Lakers' inconsistency: "I wouldn't say 'concerning.' Frustration, for sure. Concern is when you know that you're not a good team and you can't do it. Frustration comes from the point where, we know what we can do. We've shown it and we're not doing it."

love the shots at Ham from D’Lo after every loss

    Reaves throwing shots too lol

But its clear Ham got outcoached tonight

Don't know what possessed him to go zone for so long when Nets were getting hot from 3

Just letting guys wide open or just overhelping.

    That was Ham's gameplan tonight.

It's the same thing every other game

All you need to do to beat this Lakers team is shoot 3s because Lakers overhelp or don't close out.

Push the pace because Lakers are trash at transition D (25th in the league)

Ham will never call a timeout and he'll never make adjustments

You can also play enough defense and just wait until the offense becomes stagnant because Ham doesn't call much plays for AD, Reaves, or even Prince.

If he does run something good, he wont stick to it.
