Getting rid of Jones was a major key.
Lakers got two young players to build around which is impressive. I don’t mind the protection on the pick, a Top 10 would’ve been more ideal.
However, I still don’t think the Lakers sniff the playoffs. Beasley is a bench player, Russell is pretty bad, and Jared can only play defense and hit the occasional corner 3.
Is it worth it? Ehhh.

I’m happy for him. I was excited about drafting him long ago in fact. He’s a much better fit than Murray.
Will the Lakers retain him this summer? They’ll have to offer him $25+ per year to keep him perhaps. Lakers need more shooting and depth .
