if they do resign and keep him, they do need to prioritize getting a player that can replace him when he plays like s*** in the playoffs again

This was my hope with Gabe Vincent but Gabe can't shoot consistently. He's a system player who needs an elite coach to put him in the best positions to succeed.
The problem with resigning DLO is he's gonna want alot of years on his contract for security.
Based on his personality and immaturity, he's the type to get a big contract and not care.
If he doesn't perform, then his contract will be hard to move and Lakers will be stuck with him.
I thought about this last night and I just feel like the Lakers have to move on from him if he opts out, instead of resigning him to a long term deal.
If Lakers goal is a championship and to maximize Bron and AD's window, then there's no point in keeping him just for the regular season, only for him to disappoint in the playoffs.
Lakers are close to the second apron and can't sign a player that replaces what DLO does if he leaves.
Donovan Mitchell is guy the Lakers need to get. After you get him, you fill the roster with 3 & D players in place of Reaves and Rui and a quality center.
If you can't get Mitchell, then just run it back without DLO, Make Austin Reaves play point guard and start Max Christie as the two guard.
Get a quality center and Ham needs to be fired.
That should be the game plan for the offseason.

We're cooked next year too lowkey

is Max a FA this summer? if i were him iād be running for the hills, but would suck to lose him

It's an option, yes.
He shoots 40%+ on spot up 3s so he can play offball + he's a good rebounder for his position.
He actually boxes out and goes for offensive rebounds unlike Reaves, DLO, Prince, and Rui
Most of the lineups Christie, Bron, AD have a high +/- minus so stats and eye test back this up.
The ideal starting lineup for me if we can't get Mitchell is
PG: Austin Reaves
SG: Max Christie
SF: Jarred Vanderbilt
PF: Lebron James
C: Anthony Davis
Bench:
PG: Gabe Vincent
SG: Spencer Dinwiddie
SF: Cam Reddish (he'll opt in. Would love a better 3 and D in FA though)
PF: Rui (goes back to the bench and provides scoring)
C: ? (This center should be able to rebound when we go big with AD)
Taurean Prince is most likely gone, especially if Ham gets fired. Hayes will most likely opt out. Christian Wood will most likely opt in. He can be a third string center and provide spacing.

dont really want dinwiddie back either, kinda redundant with Gabe

yea he is a restricted free agent. Same situation with Austin Reaves last year.
Reports say the Lakers think highly of him so they will most likely match whatever offer he gets.
Realistically, his deal will be 5 million to 10 million per year for 4 years with a player option on the 4th year.

FIRE ROB

yea I agree but after we resign Christie + Lebron and spend money on a backup C, we're not gonna have tons of money for a backup guard.
Dinwiddie plays good D and he loves LA so I think he'll accept a vet min to come back.
The only other free agents that I like that makes sense is Lonnie Walker and Royce O Neale. Reggie Bullock is a good option too. But all of them could get more money somewhere else.
We need to hire the Bucks old coach Bud
he definitely has his flaws but i do feel like heās the best option if we move on from Ham
thereās sadly no home run hire out there

I honestly havenāt done much research but he seems like he would be the best option
Theres ppl who actually think the Lakers are conspiring against Lebron and making sure he doesnāt win anymore ringsā¦I thought they were joking but theyāre very serious Lmao
Itās bullshit cause this franchise did the same to Kobeā¦wasted his last few years in the leagueā¦did a horrible job building a team around him
Itās not some master plan, theyāre just poorly ran
yāall do have to remember that denver is probably going back to back lol theyāre an amazing team
