"According to sources close to the situation and league sources, the Los Angeles Lakers are unlikely to hire James Borrego, Jared Dudley, Terry Stotts or Sam Cassell.
Phil Handy is also unlikely. The Lakers are more open to bringing him back, but sources say he was not at all happy with not being considered for the head coach position the last two opportunities.
Sources say the Lakers have moved on to candidates lower on their initial list like Jacque Vaughn and Dwane Casey, while still keeping Scott Brooks in mind as they look to surround new head coach JJ Redick with as much experience as they can find."
âIf you arenât nice to Linda and Jeanie, you arenât going to last,â said an Eastern Conference executive. âThey just arenât run like the multi-billion-dollar franchise that they are.
Until that gets figured out, theyâre going to keep running through coaches. Look at how the Vogel and Redick hiring processes went. Does that seem stable to you?â

I'm scared again

what happened to the coaching staff
Lebron possibly taking a paycut
https://twitter.com/ChrisBHaynes/status/1807092607031357933This is huge
what happened to the coaching staff
Are you talking about the previous coaching staff? They all got fired.
If you're talking about the names that I mentioned that are unlikely to get hired.
Heres what happened:
James Borrego: considered the heavy favorite to land the Cleveland Cavaliers head coaching gig, until Dan Gilbert stepped in and overruled his front office to hire Kenny Atkinson. He tried to get the Detroit Piston coaching head job but decided to pull his name from the running and is going to remain with the New Orleans Pelicans as associate head coach.
Jared Dudley: A valued member of the Dallas Mavericks coaching staff that helped that team reach the Western Conference Finals. Sean Sweeney has a real shot at Detroitâs head coaching job, sources say, and if he lands there, Dudley would be in line for a promotion. Even if Sweeney returns, itâs likely Dudley remains in Dallas, which is considered a more stable job than the Lakersâ right now.
Sam Cassell: in line for a promotion in Boston with Charles Lee leaving to coach the Charlotte Hornets and Jeff Van Gundy leaving to be Tyronn Lueâs lead assistant with the Los Angeles Clippers. He would become the lead assistant to Joe Mazzulla in Boston coming off a championship season and will likely be one of the most sought after head coaching candidates next season.
Terry Stotts: Was offered a job on both Frank Vogelâs and Darvin Hamâs coaching staffs, sources say, but he turned down the Lakers on both occasions. Pelinka may try again, but it seems fairly unlikely Stotts would consider the third time.
Possible Lakers target
https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1807094658465411132risky with him coming off a 31% shooting season.. i mean hes a good rebounder for his size
derozan may be a name to look out for for the full MLE should bron take a paycut.
awkward fit as a starter though

Atlanta was a trainwreck last year

he was on the pistons before so thats not an excuse lol especially considering he was surrounded by better talent

The Pistons just didn't have talented
Playing in a system with 2 PGs that don't have an understanding is gonna kill an offense and cause players to be indecisive
Even though I'm a heavy proponent of the 2 PG 2 Wing 1 Big lineup, the way Atlanta went about it was passive aggressive and confusing. I don't think Trae or Dejounte could fit in that role

my point was.. he shot better on the pistons so saying atlanta was a trainwreck as a reason why he had his worst shooting season isn't an excuse considering he had more talent/spacing/open shots with atlanta.

He had more talent but now he wasn't a feature in the offense, meaning he most likely didn't know where or when his shots were coming. That was completely different in Detroit, where he was featured to improve trade stock. Also, Atlanta hasn't done well with their wing talent. Jalen's good but he was a Swiss army knife with bounce coming outta HS

he wouldn't be a feature on offense on this team either. no player with a 40/35 career split should be a feature on offense. those are cam reddish career type numbers.
not to mention hes going to miss part of the season
