Redick’s emphasis on corner crashing had been to everyone, but he mentioned that if you tell Dalton Knecht to do something, he will. Knecht had 6 offensive boards tonight.
Gabe Vincent, who was undrafted out of college, and fought his way into the league, asked about what it takes to make it, as a guy like Quincy Olivari is trying to do:
“It takes everything.”
Gabe Vincent says that even though it's preseason, the team acknowledged JJ Redick's first win as a coach, giving him the game ball.
Quincy Olivari referenced the running that he did growing up in Atlanta, that his AAU coach told him in order to get a job, he had to be in the best shape. He certainly is.
And since he got to LA, he’s also been super focused on learning from vets, constantly asking questions.
Quincy Olivari says he has been focused on bringing positive energy whenever he's on the floor for the Lakers.
"I wanted to give everything I could to put us in a position to win."
Quincy Olivari says he has been picking Gabe Vincent's brain and asking a lot of questions hoping to carve out a similar role/career as an undrafted player.
Dalton Knecht says that both LeBron and JJ Redick were encouraging him to keep shooting and not worry about misses.
Dalton Knecht on JJ Redick's first win as a coach:
"The first one is cool but he knows he's gonna get a bunch of them. We'll be there June 5th and get him some more."
Quincy Olivari says he has been picking Gabe Vincent's brain and asking a lot of questions hoping to carve out a similar role/career as an undrafted player.

he deserves a 2 way
lakers roster
Centers: AD, Hayes, Wood
Forwards: Lebron, Rui, Vandy, Knecht, Maxwell
Guards: Reaves, DLO, Vincent, Christie, JHS, Reddish, bronny
that's 14. I think Kelly should make the team since Wood is out long term and Kelly can offer shot blocking/ rebounding/ defense. He's 27 and NBA ready. He already dominated G league, make his contract non guaranteed. He can also put pressure on Hayes not to play stupid or get bench with no minutes. Seems like a no brainer to me
my 2way guys would be
A- PG - QUINCY
OLIVARI - earned a spot. Lakers scouting might have found another gem. He can shoot, PG skills, and legit 6'7 wingspan. That defensive potential is real
B- F ARMEL
TRAORE - he's only 21 and is a nice development prospect. In a year or 2 he can he be a rotation player. Athletic, some skill, 7'3 wingspan- he just needs time
C- CHRISTIAN
KOLOKO C- Havent seen him play but this is just based off potential. Castleon is a European player, he's just so slow and cant jump. I dont see the potential at all. Koloko is only 24 and can be another Defense anchor type. we need another center like that
Darvin Ham on his firing:
“The state of the team when they hired me, up until the day they fired me, I like to think it improved. And that’s all I care about,” Ham, who was hired by Rivers in June, told ESPN on Thursday. “I poured myself, my heart and soul, into that team trying to improve it from where it was — 33-49. And to get to the Western Conference finals in one year, have guys benefit from it financially. To have that excitement going into that next year, get derailed by injuries, still manage to win the in-season tournament and get to the playoffs, I thank God every day.
“Again, I’m completely grateful. I wish that franchise nothing but the best. I’m not mean or angry or bitter about anything. Some people have certain opinions and those are opinions, but if you really look at the facts, there’s not much for me personally I have to say. So, that’s it.”

wish him the best. I honestly felt like he dealt with a lot of egos during his time. Lebron has to be the hardest guy to coach ever.
JJ Redick said Austin Reaves is “day-to-day” he participated in the non-contact parts of practice. No update on if he’ll play or not on Tuesday.
Two-way forward Armel Traore will "probably be out " for 5 days with swelling in right hand (shooting hand), per JJ Redick. He's currently wearing a brace.
