I think Austin Reaves is a baller. I just think he is a bad fit on this team and is looking to get paid. I feel like right now is the time to flip him for a better

My reasoning

• what can stop this team is defense. Luka is a bad defender and need to be surrounded by defenders. LeBron is probably average at this point but can lose a step at any point. Rui is below average to maybe average on his best day. Ayton is average. That’s 4 potential starters who who below average on defense. Defense doesn’t matter in regular season and you can get by, but it matters in the playoffs

• will he accept a 6th man role? Ideally Smart is a great signing and can add much needed 3 and D defender to the starting backcourt. Manu accepted 6th man role, but Reaves could be different. This is a big year for him in a contract year

• Luka is going be the alpha with the ball. Lebron will 2nd in line. Ayton could also get looks. I would say Reaves is tied for 3rd option so there could be a regression. This team is more talented this year.

• makes sense to trade Rui or Reaves. Rui took a team friendly contract. Reaves has more value so Reaves could be the guy to move

• Should develop Knecht. Another guy who isn’t good on defense but has offensive potential, he can play either SF or SG. I like him as an oversized SG.
