At this point you have to assume all Danny’s shots are going to be bricks or airballs

it's crazy how the media continues to treat us as "tough outs" rather than championship contenders. dude we have an elite LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the peak of his powers playing together. I feel like the media is just trolling at this point

Rondo's best play came with the Lakers' micro-ball lineup alongside Kuz, Bron, Morris, and Caruso. He was 2-3, had 6 assists, and 3 steals. In that lineup Rondo was the primary ball handler so even if his man sags off a bit, he still draws defensive attention.

When Bron is the primary playmaker and AD is in the game, Rondo becomes a spot up 3-point shooter (0-3) who is left wide open because he isn't a threat there.

If Vogel wants Rondo in the game with AD and Bron, I think Rondo should either be the ball handler or be active in making cuts or setting screens for Bron or a shooter.

But in critical situations where you want the ball in Bron or AD's hands, Vogel should be careful with Rondo for the sake of spacing and forcing the Rockets to be defensively disciplined with a real 3 point threat.

The Rockets sagged off of him all night, but in the final 3 defensive possessions they opted for completely leaving him open and sending two to the ball. Lakers turned it over once (almost twice) and scored twice, but it could be problematic if the Rockets do this more aggressively throughout Rondo's minutes with Bron and AD.

  • Expecting AD at the 5 and Morris starting if McGee is out.
