It's going to be another Vogel situation where preferred candidates like Monty and Lue are going to turn it down for other openings and they'll have to opt for a third option

Honestly makes me a little hopeful they interviewed some great coaches last time. Ty Lue was all set but they tried to lowball him

That's a good way to look at it
but the second part is the foundation of the problem with this team The Lakers name has enough gravitas to get the best coaching candidates, FAs etc but the FO and ownership is AWFUL and undercuts all of that and everything else

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Those rumors actually sound credible plus the Jazz really seemed poised to get blown up/shaken up in some way but he's a top ten coach so it's hard to see him going to a situation as shaky as the Lakers when he's been a part of such a stable, well run organization for so long.
Like if Doc gets clapped, why wouldn't he just go to the Sixers instead?
